Weedman Design Partners is a Portland interior design and architecture studio creating spas, wellness centers, member-focused environments, event venues, and social spaces throughout the Pacific Northwest.
We bring hospitality thinking to the full experience: arrival, privacy, movement, sound, lighting, materials, treatment and service spaces, food and beverage, retail, and the moments where people naturally connect. Behind that feeling is rigorous work in code, permitting, construction documentation, consultant coordination, procurement, installation, and project management.
Root Whole Body
Root asked us to create one cohesive home for multiple experiences with very different rhythms. A café and retail environment needed energy and openness. Treatment rooms, medical offices, yoga studios, and spa facilities needed privacy, calm, and control.
Natural materials, clean proportions, custom screens, and layered lighting give the center a grounded identity while allowing each part of the program to work on its own terms.

Our own studio is also a gallery, salon, meeting place, dinner table, and gathering space. Hospitality is not an added service here. It is how we work.
We host exhibitions, artist conversations, wine tastings, dinners, flower pop-ups, and community events in the same place where we design. That ongoing use gives us a firsthand understanding of arrival, hosting, flow, flexibility, lighting, food and beverage, and why some spaces make people stay.

Based in Portland, Weedman Design Partners works with founders, operators, developers, property owners, and architects throughout Oregon and Washington, including Portland, Vancouver, Lake Oswego, Beaverton, Seattle, Bellevue, Kirkland, and beyond.
Our boutique scale keeps senior creative and technical attention close to the project from the first test fit through permitting, construction, procurement, and installation.
When should we bring you in?
Ideally before the lease or site is finalized. An early feasibility review can catch plumbing, ventilation, occupancy, and code issues in a wet-program space like a spa or treatment center while there's still room to adjust the plan or the site itself.
Can one project mix a café, treatment rooms, and studio space?
Yes — it's one of the more common briefs we get. Root Whole Body combines a café, medical offices, yoga studios, and spa treatment rooms in a single building, each with different privacy, acoustic, and flow requirements. The work is in giving each part its own logic while keeping the whole building feel cohesive.
Do you handle code and permitting for treatment rooms, plumbing, and accessibility?
Yes. Spas, treatment rooms, and other wet programs carry their own code, accessibility, and moisture and ventilation requirements. We handle or coordinate that review, along with permit-ready construction documents and consultant coordination.
Can you help with membership experience and day-to-day operations, not just the design?
Yes. For member clubs and wellness destinations, arrival, staff flow, and day-to-day operations shape the design as much as the finishes do. We work through those questions early, alongside your team, rather than handing over a design that operations has to work around.
Do you only work in Portland?
No. We work throughout Oregon and Washington — Portland, Vancouver, Lake Oswego, Beaverton, Seattle, Bellevue, and Kirkland among them — and take on projects further out when it's the right fit.
